This shouldn't have been funny, but it was.
Clover in the Lawn wrote this on Found today.
...is it okay to laugh at another's misfortune? I think not. But I have been doing that lately. What is happening to me?
Yesterday I laughed at a cute little 2-year-old girl for accidentally almost strangling a little dog. The dog said "hcgk hcgk" when she let go of him. The kid was really cute, and she understood that I was laughing at her even though she can't talk yet. After that she gave me a dirty look and ran away from me when I tried to be friendly to her. The dog didn't care, though, that I was laughing at him because he almost died.
It's just not right to laugh at another's misfortune.
I'm not catholic... and I'm going to stop feeling guilty now.
I have to go scrub the bathtub now. I will meditate on the find. It is Sunday, after all.

HI! I just love your blog. I was with you in France last summer. We sat on the shores of the Mediterreanean a few times.
I say if you are laughing at situations no matter how serious they are or not, then you are really enjoying the lighter side of life. It is important that we do this. As you were describing the story I too was laughing.
anyway.. have a great day and thanks for a great blog... I really enjoy it.
choking a dog? don't think you should feel guilty cos you laffed. i think anyone would laff but i would also worry that the dog doesn't jump the girl in anger. but since you laffed she wasn't in any real danger and the dog lived. am sure he's forgotten about it and even the kid too. she's just two. really am trying to feel you here cos in my own part of the world animals are just pets... or food.
